Balique Restaurant, is an original eatery found in the relaxed fishing village of Jimbaran, in stunning southern Bali, now home to outstanding world-class resorts and villas. This traditional seaside village and Balique suit each other harmoniously, as Balique pays homage to all the best of the Indonesian archipelago under its whirring fan-open style roof, in both the style and cuisine stakes. If you appreciate an authentic step into the past in stunning surroundings teemed with objets d’art, as well as a delicious menu, fabulous cocktails as well as an extensive affordable wine list – you have arrived home.
And for sure, the warm décor along with the charming team of staff will make sure you completely feel at home here – welcome to the amazing world that is Balique Restaurant and allow yourself to forget the fast, modern world outside, and be at peace in a bygone era of pure sensuality.
The place is a-scatter with the more classic table and chair settings, or oversized sofas full of plump cushions – which are perfect during High Tea time or informal meetings when a beverage is all that is required. It is interesting to point out that Balique is not air-conditioned but perfectly cooled by a gentlesea breeze. Across the salon from the working open kitchen is the glamorous bar, complete with a heavybaroque style chandelier and bar stock to make even Bacchus blush. From the cooling hand baked tiles underfoot, up to the beautiful skeleton of the rafters alive with whirring fans the philosophy is traditional, uncomplicated and hospitable butdistinct and creative. Food and drinks are fresh, healthy and fun with taste of Asian.
The team is multi-lingual, with Head Chef hailing from Belgian overseeing a kitchen staff from around Indonesia. The delightfully charming waiters and waitress also speak several languages, and have the knack of serving down to a fine art. Balique’s team is a family ready to welcome all guests into the Balique Restaurant.
