Living Room Restaurant is famous with its uniqueness of eclectic Asian Flavors and European cuisines. Living Room Restaurant has been staked out by a regular crowd of European expats. The food isn’t as beautiful as the people with an eclectic menu of French and Asian dishes that can be hit or miss. Frogs’ legs in white-wine sauce with green papaya salad are a favorite choice. The bar area and glassed-in wine cellar is where the Euros hold court until the wee hours. A superb place for occasional celebrity spotting and late-night dancing.
Homey atmosphere and the tasteful cuisines will make the Living Room as your second home.
Located at the Seminyak area this big, spacious, luxury restaurant is not hard to find and rather close, especially if you stay in Kuta or Legian. From the main road, you can only see the top of the Joglo (traditional Javanese house), which is at the center of the restaurant. But as you enter, the beautiful garden with dim candle light on the table and lit ground will bring out your romantic side. The main décor is a mix of Javanese (classic style chairs and tables), with an ambience of French or Dutch colonial era hundred years ago. I dare to say this is a big restaurant as it can occupy more than 200 diners per day both inside and outside tables.
As you read the menu, you will find many Asian cuisines as their specialty, such Vietnamese spring rolls, Thai chicken & crispy noodles, Chinese duckling, chicken, prawns, and others. Be local for a day, and try the Balinese cuisine like the sotong serei, baby squid dipped into herbs then wrapped in banana leaf. A new delicacy experience.
Short listed yet excellent wine list is ready to perfected your dinner. Afterward, you can advance to the Living Room bar which is beyond the main dining area. Still, the dim light with vaguely music from afar brings more intimate conversation with friends or lover. Though the Living Room bar is not the ultimate place to end your night, but it is definitely a good place to start.
